“Women in STEM: different approaches to bring about change”

To celebrate the 10th Ada Lovelace day Edinburgh Napier University and EQUATE Scotland are delighted to host Sharon Moore, MBE, Industry Technical Leader for Travel and Transportation IBM UK Ltd.

Sharon is a wonderful role model and is passionate about ensuring equal access to opportunities in IT. Sharon was honoured with an MBE in the Queen’s birthday honours 2018 for services to women in technology based industries, and presented with the ‘Inspirational Women in Leadership’ award at the inaugural Scotland Women in Technology Awards 2017. She found herself in the Computer Weekly Top 50 Women of Influence in 2016 and 2017. She leads BCSWomen in Scotland, and is their Deputy Chair across the UK. She was elected as a board member of Scotland Women in Technology in their relaunch earlier this year.

Sharon will be joined by Allison Johnstone, Equate Scotland who will provide an insight into the new recruitment hub and will share with the audience some of the work currently being done to make a difference to women in STEM.

Doors open at 6.15pm / Lecture begins at 6.30pm followed by a Q&A
