Ada Lovelace Award for Woman of the Year in GNO Tech

LookFar’s President, Chris Reade, dreamed up the Ada Lovelace Award in 2015. The father of a ten-year-old daughter, he was struck by how few female role models he knew in science and technology – not that these women didn’t exist, but that they seemed to fly under the radar their male counterparts.
“When my daughter is in her thirties, I want ‘women in STEM’ to be the type ‘yes, and?’,” said Reade on stage at the 2015 Awards. And so he created the Ada Lovelace Awards, to celebrate and expose the women who are helping the Greater New Orleans tech community to thrive and grow.
More than 44 women (and 1 teenager) have been nominated for the award, which will be presented on October 11th, Ada Lovelace Day.
