The Future of Space Flight
9 October 2019Free
To celebrate Ada Lovelace and the 50th anniversary of the moon landings, the University of Liverpool’s Women in Science and Engineering (LivWiSE) is hosting a day of interactive activities with 100’s of school children, demonstrating how computers and AI are influencing the future of space exploration, including a Question and Answer session for schools with Holly Ridings, NASA’s Chief Flight Director.
In the evening LivWiSE (Liverpool Women in Science and Engineering) is hosting a public guest lecture with Holly Ridings at the University of Liverpool. Holly is the first female Chief Flight Director at NASA. She works at Mission Control in Houston, Texas, and is responsible for all NASA Human Space Flight missions including the International Space Station, the Orion Programme, NASA’s return to the Moon and future manned missions to Mars.
Holly will talk about her career and role at NASA, current (and the future of) human space flight missions – including the ISS, return to the Moon and Mars.
