[ONLINE] TechWomen NZ Webinar: Ada Lovelace Day
13 October 2020 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Free
THIS IS A TECH ALLIANCE EVENT
Come and join TechWomen to celebrate Ada Lovelace Day with a conversation about getting the tech job you really want, held via Zoom.
Ada Lovelace Day (13th October 2020) is an international celebration of the achievements of women in science, technology, engineering, and maths (STEM). It aims to increase the profile of women in STEM and, in doing so, create new role models who will encourage more girls into STEM careers and support women already working in STEM.
The IT industry, like many others, is actively increasing their hiring of diversity and female staff. Businesses understand that diversity brings so much more to the table. However, there is still a shortage of females applying for roles within the IT sector, which we are focusing on during this webinar. With a panel of very talented and experienced women across several parts of the corporate sector, we will be discussing how women can help ourselves to push our natural boundaries when applying for a role, understand how Covid has impacted this process within businesses and also how to read beyond a job description and remember what skills you can contribute.
Speakers:
- Eva Sherwood, TechWomen Chair and NZTech Board member
- Amanda Watson, TechWomen Executive member
- Tasia Stace – Oracle DBA Team Leader @ eIT / Servian
- Emma Southward – 40 Foot Recruitment
- Julie Fitzgerald – Organisational Learning Manager Z Energy
