Ada Lovelace Day: A Celebration of Women in Computing
Did you know that the first computer programmer was a woman? It’s true! Lady Ada was the Countess of Lovelace and the daughter of famed poet Lord Byron. She was a gifted mathematician who wrote an algorithm for the Analytical Engine, a computer invented by Charles Babbage in 1837.

Sarah Sexton, Microsoft Technical Evangelist
Sarah Sexton is a dedicated advocate for technology, committed to highlighting strengths and seeing more women and minorities get involved in game development. Her responsibilities at Microsoft include public speaking, writing code, blogging and tweeting about cool services, and interacting with communities in the Midwest.

Gabrielle Crevecoeur, Microsoft Technical Evangelist
Gabrielle is a Technical Evangelist at Microsoft specializing in Open Source Development. Her current focus is Node.js. Gabrielle is a recent graduate from the Florida State University where she majored in Computer Science. She will be pursuing a Masters in Electrical Engineering at the University of Illinois Chicago starting this Spring.

Melissa Harless is a Senior Business Analyst at Principal Financial Group in Des Moines, IA. With 19 years of experience in the Business Analyst and Software Development profession, she has worked in both Italy and the USA in a range of industries. Melissa has a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration and Geography from the University of Northern Iowa.
