Ada Lovelace Day: Women in the Sciences Wikipedia Edit-a-thon

6 October 2019 @ 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Free

Join us at this edit-a-thon to honor and highlight under-recognized women in science, technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM), and related fields! And there’s no better time to do it than on the cusp of Ada Lovelace Day, an international celebration of the contributions of self-identifying women in STEM.

Cornell and Ithaca community members, let’s make Wikipedia a more inclusive space. While Wikipedia is the fifth most popular website in the world, reaching up to 32 million views a day, less than 18% of its English-language biographies are about women. Let’s change that!

No prior Wikipedia editing experience is necessary and we’ll provide training. We’ll also have drinks, pizza, and fun activities at our makerspace!
