Ada Lovelace Day Tea Time

8 October 2019 @ 11:30 am - 1:00 pm

Free

Location: Western Washington University, Bellingham, WA

Date and time: Tuesday, October 08, 2019 from 11:30 – 1 pm PST

Ada Lovelace (b.1815), English mathematician, writer, and musician, is perhaps most famous as the world’s first computer programmer. In honor of Ada, as well as the many womxn in science, technology, engineering, the arts, and math (STEM), WWU STEM clubs are hosting an informal drop-in reception and mixer.

All students, faculty, and staff who would like to celebrate the achievements of womxn in the sciences (we include nonbinary & trans individuals in our celebration) are invited to join in for coffee and tea, cookies, party favors, and a free book raffle. Stop in, grab a cup of tea, and have a conversation or three.

This independently organized Ada Lovelace Day event is a part of a global celebration of women in STEM, and is organized by WWU Out In Science, ChemClub, SACNAS, and Physicists for Inclusion in Science (PhIS).
