Ada Lovelace Day Celebration and Women in STEM Evening

Ada Lovelace Day is an international event celebrating the achievements of women in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). Carthage is hosting two events on Tuesday, Oct. 8.

11:45 a.m.–12:20 p.m. Ada Lovelace Day Celebration: Crown the winning Algorithm Poems, learn about Ada Lovelace and other groundbreaking women in STEM, and enjoy prizes and refreshments. Join us in the David A. Straz, Jr. Science Center atrium.

7–8 p.m. Women in STEM Evening: Hear from a panel of local women in STEM, learn from our panel’s personal and professional experiences, discuss the challenges and rewards of being women in STEM, and strengthen the community through networking and outreach. Featuring a dessert reception and panel discussion in the Hedberg Library Niemann Theatre.
