[ONLINE] How you can change the world (with the help of physics)
12 October 2021 @ 2:10 pm - 2:40 pm
FreeThis free webinar, hosted by the Institute of Physics in partnership with ed-tech charity F4S, will show young people just how powerful physics is and help them discover the career pathways studying physics can lead to.
Unfortunately, some young people are put off of pursuing physics from the misconceived ideas of what is, and others are denied the opportunity to study physics due to the prejudice and stereotypes that they experience because of who they are.
As a result, too many young people are made to feel that they can’t do physics, or they just don’t ‘fit in’. F4S and the IOP are working together to combat this issue and inspire the next generation of physicists by connecting them with real life role models.
This webinar is held as part of F4S’s Role Model Week campaign, sponsored by the Institute of Physics, which aims to raise awareness of the impact role models have on young lives and help to provide relatable role models for all children, regardless of their socio-economic background.
