Elly Zupko on Honoring the Trailblazing Women in STEM of the Past & Future
22 October 2017 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
FreeIn 2014, people across the world saw a lead scientist from the European Space Agency appear on international television to talk about the Philae lander mission wearing a garment covered in scantily-clad women. It became known as “that shirt.” Elly responded by designing “that other shirt,” which features over 50 notable women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics). Her successful Kickstarter campaign led to the formation of a non-profit, SMLX Good, which supports STEM programmes for girls and has raised over $40,000. Hear how Elly supports women in STEM & EDI (Equity, Diversity and Inclusivity) through SMLX Good.
