Celebrate Ada Lovelace Day with the Queen’s Gender Initiative and the School of Medicine, Dentistry and Biomedical Sciences

Ada Lovelace Day is an international celebration of the achievements of women in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). It aims to increase the profile of women in STEM, create new role models who will encourage more girls into STEM and support women already working in STEM (see Finding Ada website ).At this event, you will hear about the life and pioneering work of Ada Lovelace, who is considered as the first programmer, working with Sir Charles Babbage on the Analytical Engine (first generation, general purpose mechanical computer).

You will also hear from inspirational speakers from Datactics, Esri Ireland and meet exhibitors from Kainos, Women Who Code and Women TechMakers.

This is a free event – lunch will be provided.
