We will have two events taking place on campus to recognize the achievements of women in STEM on Ada Lovelace Day.

Ada Lovelace Day Celebration

Integrated Sciences Pavilion, David A. Straz Center for the Natural and Social Science

  • Submit a poem to the poetry contest for a chance to win great prizes! Poems should describe an algorithm (or step-by-step instructions) for something you do in everyday life (like making a PB&J sandwich). Email submissions to Professor Sara Jensen at sjensen1@carthage.edu.
  • Attend this event for refreshments, prizes, poetry, and to learn about historical women in STEM.

Women in STEM Evening
4-6 p.m.
Integrated Sciences Pavilion, David A. Straz Center for the Natural and Social Science

  • Are you curious about the experiences of Carthage faculty and staff? Submit questions for our Carthage women in STEM, including their career choices and advice, challenges they’ve faced, anything you’re interested in! Email questions in advance to Professor Haley Yaple at hyaple@carthage.edu.
  • Attend to hear from a panel Carthage’s own esteemed faculty and staff women in STEM and strengthen the community through networking and outreach. Refreshments will be provided.
