Society for Canadian Women in Science & Technology (SCWIST)

SCWIST is a not-for-profit association, founded in 1981, to help encourage girls and women into STEM. They are involved in advocacy and engage directly with the government and other organisations to influence public policy. Over the years they have run workshops for girls, seminars for parents and teachers, created videos, a database of women working in STEM, as well as networking events and conferences.

Jill is an entrepreneur and TEDx speaker who founded CareerXFactor, and co-founded Brew Girl and Cosmic Ventures. Immigrant & International Women in Science is a not-for-profit formed in 2018 as a collaborative network to support immigrant and international women in STEM through mentorship and other programmes. Dr Lakshmi Ramachandran

Location: Singapore

Lakshmi is a Programme Manager at Duke-NUS Medical School responsible for the Cancer ImmunoTherapy Imaging Programme, where she also manages the Women in Science Career Advancement Programme. She trained as a keynote speaker and coach to talk about the challenge of retaining women in STEM careers and explore ways retention can be improved, after her own experiences returning to a career. Lakshmi has written a memoir cookbook, Roomies/Foodies, and collaborates with the STEM Advocacy Institute on their Stories In Science initiative.
