Dr Allison Gardner

Location: United Kingdom

Allison is a Teaching Fellow and Programme Director for the Science Foundation Year at Keele University, where she researches machine learning for disease prediction, and gender and computing. She co-founded Women Leading in AI in 2018, is an alumnus of the Jo Cox Women in Leadership Programme and is a panel member for the Artificial Intelligence Health and Care Award. Allison also spoke at our International Women’s Day event in 2019 ‘IWD: Shifting the balance in STEM‘.

Women In STEM Brainiacs is a not-for-profit initiative from Brainiacs STEM & Robotics and encourages girls and women in STEM. They run a mentoring scheme, STEM competitions and events, internships and are setting up STEM networks in schools.

Naadiya Moosajee

Naadiya is an entrepreneur and engineer who co-founded WomHub, an incubator for female-led STEM businesses, and is also a co-founder of WomEng. She was listed as one of the 20 Youngest Power Women In Africa 2014, was a Unilever Young Entrepreneurs Awards Finalist in 2017 and was one of 12 African leaders accepted onto the Facebook Community Accelerator this year.

Arab Women in Computing (ArabWIC) was founded in 2012 and is a not-for-profit which highlights Arab women in tech through networking and events. They have over 2,500 members across chapters in 17 countries. ArabWIC collaborate with a number of organisations and educational institutions, such as Women in Data Science (WiDS), to hold events and conferences in the Middle East, and were also one of five NGOs to participate in the Girls Got IT initiative.

Hema was recently chosen as one of South Africa’s Inspiring Fifty and, in 2017, was awarded the Fortune/Goldman Sachs Global Leader’s Award.
