Dr Jean Fan

Jean Fan is an assistant professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Johns Hopkins University, who uses machine learning to analyse medical data. She was a co-chair of the Harvard Graduate Women in Science and Engineering student group and was a mentor at Science Club for Girls. She is the founder and director of CuSTEMized, a personalised story book to encourage young girls into STEM, which has provided over 20,000 free eBooks. In 2019, she won the Nature Research Award for Inspiring Science for her research and her efforts promoting STEM.
