Celebrating Ada Lovelace Day in Manchester
12 October 2021 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm
FreeAbout this event
It started with a tweet (not a kiss haha)
On a ordinary day in September, a fine human profoundly asked…
Who are interesting women in Manchester I can meet/should know ?
Then by the power of Twitter and generous tagging a beautiful thread of influential women in Greater Manchester was born.
With Ada Lovelace day approaching we thought, what would be great is getting these fabulous women together to see what awesomeness comes of it.
That’s what Ada Lovelace Day is all about. Inspiring others, meeting role models & forging strong relationships.
Join us for an evening of refreshments and smiles coupled with facilitated networking sessions. We are still figuring out the finer details so the format could include speed dating, creative matchmaking, cosy chats by the biscuits, big circle talks or water cooler moments (need to buy a water cooler).
We can’t wait to welcome you all to Ada. National College for Digital Skills in Manchester. ( We launched one year ago in Manchester o/ wooo!)
Let’s do this!
Who was Ada Lovelace?
Ada Lovelace is considered the first computer programmer. Even though she wrote about a computer, the Analytical Engine, that was never built, she realized that the computer could follow a series of simple instructions, a program, to perform a complex calculation. … She has been called the first computer programmer.
