[ONLINE] Ada Lovelace and drones deep underground
11 October 2022 @ 6:00 am - 7:00 pm
Free – £5Join the team from STFC RAL Space and the Boulby Underground Laboratory to celebrate Ada Lovelace Day. This is your chance to find out how Boulby and their colleagues at York University are using the principles laid down by Ada Lovelace, regarded as the world’s first computer programmer, to test drones destined to explore other worlds, all from deep beneath the surface of the Earth. As well as a virtual tour of the laboratory, 1,100 m underground, you’ll discover how drones are designed, tested and – ultimately – used to learn more about our solar system.
