Evening Exchange: Poetical Science

16 October 2015 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Free

‘You will not concede me philosophical poetry. Invert the order! Will you give me poetical philosophy, poetical science?’ – Ada Lovelace in a letter to her mother

Ada Lovelace was Lord Byron’s daughter and she inherited his talent for writing. At age 12 she wrote a book called ‘Flyology’ that included a design for a mechanical flying horse, but her mother told her off for neglecting her studies and ‘Flyology’ was left unfinished.

What might have happened next? With the beginnings of a tale provided by Interactive Fiction as your springboard, join Emily Short, a renowned author in the IF community, and have fun learning how to create an interactive story and bring it to completion.

The first in our Evening Exchange series, this event will involve working on the piece as a group, followed by a brainstorming game and an individual writing jam.
