Women In Research Speaker Night
10 October 2016 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
FreeIn celebration of Ada Lovelace day, we will be celebrating the achievements of women in science and technology with a speaker night, featuring women from a diverse range of fields presenting on the work they’re currently doing.
Register your attendance for free now at: https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/women-in-research-speaker-night-tickets-27672897381
Come along and enjoy free food and drinks while hearing from some amazing women, including:
– Samantha Hood: Samantha is a postgraduate student at the University of Queensland currently undertaking a PhD. Her research is focussed on researching charge separation in organic solar cells using computational methods. Samantha hopes to establish a strong theoretical foundation to describe charge transport in organic solar cells, which will lead to experimental tests of these theories.
– Ariel Marcy: As well as undertaking her PhD at Uq, Ariel is the Developer of Go Extinct! which teaches players how to read ‘evolutionary trees’ and targets children aged eight and up. The game has been adopted by a number of science and education institutions, including The National Science and Technology Centre Questacon. Ariel formed STEAM Galaxy Studios, which aims to increase the diversity of kids who flourish in science, technology, engineering and maths, and to provide educators with access to high quality, fun STEM teaching resources.
And more!!!
