WiRE UK & WiN UK Field Trip: Discovering Fusion Energy

Join us on Ada Lovelace Day, Tuesday, 10 October 2023, for a joint WiRE UK and Women in Nuclear (WiN) UK visit to the UK Atomic Energy Authority (UK AEACulham Science Centre to learn about fusion energy!

The UKAEA is a leading research institute for fusion energy and related technologies, with the aim of positioning the UK as a leader in sustainable atomic energy.

Over the course of the day we will be able to tour the UKAEA facilities, including JET, the world’s largest and most advanced magnetic fusion experiment. This will also be an excellent opportunity to meet fellow energy professionals and organisations, such as WiN UK and UKAEA’s women network, and to celebrate pioneering women in STEM with a lunch ‘n learn.

We will meet outfront of the Culham Science Centre (Abingdon, Oxfordshire, OX14 3DB) at 10:30am.

Please note you will be required to make your own way to the Culham Science Centre. Culham is the closest rail station but it is also possible to take a bus from Didcot Parkway station.

There are a limited number of spaces so the ticket allocation process will run on a first come, first serve basis. Register now to reserve your spot!
