Coding Black Females

Location: United Kingdom

Coding Black Females is a non-profit founded in 2017 that provides networking and development to Black female developers in a supportive community. They hold meetups and offer discounts and other opportunities to their members, and also run a jobs board. This year, they launched an initiative with Nivo Enterprise called Black Codher, a part-time coding bootcamp for unemployed black women.

Lourdes Beatriz Cajica Maceda

Dr Jean Fan

Location: United States

Jean Fan is an assistant professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Johns Hopkins University, who uses machine learning to analyse medical data. She was a co-chair of the Harvard Graduate Women in Science and Engineering student group and was a mentor at Science Club for Girls. She is the founder and director of CuSTEMized, a personalised story book to encourage young girls into STEM, which has provided over 20,000 free eBooks. In 2019, she won the Nature Research Award for Inspiring Science for her research and her efforts promoting STEM.
