DESCRIPTION:A talk by Elly Zupko — equity\, diversity & inclusivity activist and communications expert \nMonday October 23rd 12:30pm-1:30pm\nSenate Chamber\, N940 Ross Building Keele Campus \nIn 2014\, people across the world saw a lead scientist from the European Space Agency appear on international television to talk about the Philae lander mission wearing a garment covered in scantily-clad women. It became known as “that shirt.” Elly responded by designing “that other shirt\,” which features over 50 notable women in STEM (Science\, Technology\, Engineering & Mathematics). \nHer successful Kickstarter campaign led to the forma- tion of a non-profit\, SMLX Good\, which supports STEM programmes for girls and has raised over $40\,000.
