DESCRIPTION:In government\, algorithms have the potential to make public service delivery more efficient and personalised. But that’s just the start. This event will consider the opportunities and challenges for government as computers become more powerful\, data becomes more abundant and progress in artificial intelligence continues apace. \nJoining us on Ada Lovelace Day\, an annual celebration of women in science\, our panel includes: \n\nNicola Blackwood\, former health minister and former Chair of the Science and Technology Select Committee\nHelen Margetts\, Director of the Oxford Internet Institute and Programme Director for Public Policy at the Alan Turing Institute\nHetan Shah\, Executive Director\, Royal Statistical Society\nFurther speaker tbc\n\nThe event will be chaired by Gavin Freeguard\, Programme Director and Head of Data and Transparency at the Institute for Government. \nA light lunch will be available to attendees at this event from 12.30. \nThis event is in partnership with the Royal Statistical Society.
