SUMMARY:Elly Zupko on Honoring the Trailblazing Women in STEM of the Past & Future
DESCRIPTION:In 2014\, people across the world saw a lead scientist from the European Space Agency appear on international television to talk about the Philae lander mission wearing a garment covered in scantily-clad women. It became known as “that shirt.” Elly responded by designing “that other shirt\,” which features over 50 notable women in STEM (Science\, Technology\, Engineering & Mathematics). Her successful Kickstarter campaign led to the formation of a non-profit\, SMLX Good\, which supports STEM programmes for girls and has raised over $40\,000.
