SUMMARY:Ada Lovelace – an Artistic Installation
DESCRIPTION:At entrance of the Cardiff School of Technologies and Cardiff School of Management at Cardiff Metropolitan University we are celebrating Ada Lovelace day (9th of October) with an artistic installation of an image of Ada Lovelace. The machine control of the CNC machine that made the wooden grid holding the balloons was originally conceived by Ada in 1843. \nThis coloured image is a simplistic use of the painting technique pointillism used by Georges Seurat and Pal Signac. A section of a painting of Ada was selected\, using a computer its size was reduce to a 30 by 30 pixel image\, and its colour pallet was reduce to match 8 coloured balloons. \nThe final image reflects the activities of many computer enthusiasts in the 60-70s\, who would creatively define images using the dots and characters on printers.\n————–\nWrth fynedfa ysgol technolegau Caerdydd ac ysgol reolaeth Caerdydd ym Mhrifysgol Fetropolitan Caerdydd Rydym yn dathlu diwrnod ADA Lovelace (10fed o Hydref) gyda gosodiad artistig o lun o ADA Lovelace. Cafodd rheolaeth peiriant CNC a wnaeth y grid pren yn dal y balwnau ei lunio’n wreiddiol gan ADA yn 1843. \nMae’r ddelwedd lliw hon yn ddefnydd gor-syml o’r dechneg peintio pointa ddefnyddir gan Georges seurat a PAL signac. Dewiswyd darn o baentiad o ADA\, gan ddefnyddio cyfrifiadur Roedd ei faint yn lleihau i ddelwedd 30 wrth 30 picsel\, a chafodd ei phaled lliw ei leihau i gyfateb i 8 o falwnau lliw. \nMae’r ddelwedd olaf yn adlewyrchu gweithgareddau llawer o selogion y cyfrifiadur yn y 60-70s\, a fyddai’n diffinio delweddau’n greadigol gan ddefnyddio’r dotiau a’r nodau ar beiriannau argraffu.

DESCRIPTION:We are intending to celebrate Ada Lovelace day with an artistic installation of an image of Ada made from balloons held in a grid. This coloured image is a simplistic use of the painting technique pointillism used by Georges Seurat and Pal Signac. It also reflects the activities of many computer technicians in the 60-70s while waiting for tape backups to finish would creatively define images using dots and characters on printers.
