DESCRIPTION:Join us at our Ada Lovelace 200th Birthday Celebration @ our new ThoughtWorks office in San Francisco!! \nWho was Ada Lovelace? \nAugusta Ada King\, Countess of Lovelace was an English mathematician and writer\, chiefly known for her work on Charles Babbage’s early mechanical general-purpose computer\, the Analytical Engine. Her notes on the engine include what is recognized as the first algorithm intended to be carried out by a machine. Because of this\, she is often regarded as the “first computer programmer”. Her contributions to the Analytical Engine remained a vision\, but later came to fruition by inspiring Alan Turing’s work on the first modern computer in the 1940s. Ada now remains as a powerful symbol for women working in science\, technology\, engineering and mathematics. \nWe plan on having fun event with a safe and encouraging crowd. Last year\, we had a well attended event and with our new space we’re excited to host an even bigger crowd!
